We all get to heaven under someone else’s name

Bleary-eyed, I was in the shower when I heard this line on the radio, “we all get to heaven under someone else’s name.” It’s a line in a song by Chris Rice, Sneakin’ into heaven. http://www.metrolyrics.com/sneakin-into-heaven-lyrics-chris-rice.html#

It got me thinking. Imagine a line of excited people standing outside a night club or other invitation only event. The doorman stands with the guest list in his hand. There’s only one name on the list – Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Use that name, and you’re in. Use your own and you’re lost.

As Peter said, ‘Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.’ (Acts 4. 12) Thanks Chris for waking me up with such great inspiration.
